Developing Athletes
As you develop, competition can change things that feel stable in training. Attention shifts, confidence changes, movement becomes more controlled or rushed, and one mistake can affect the next attempt. The useful question is what actually changed, where it began and what you can learn to do with it.
Notice the change
Start with what becomes different in competition: attention, timing, movement, decisions or your response to a mistake.
Understand the pattern
A poor result does not automatically mean your technique disappeared. Look for what changed before the result.
Train a usable response
Practice what to do when the pattern appears so you are not trying to invent a solution in competition.
